Given that there are so many different hairstyles and face shape combinations to choose from it would be next to impossible to "fit" headpieces to every individual character. I mean yeah it could be done but the amount of code required makes my fingers hurt just thinking about it and all because of some jaggles and and bad collisions.

The problem is not with this word but rather with "excuse". I looked at the OP's pictures and I consider it nitpicking to complain this way about such a glitch.

Ticket to Anet's support system and that's it. Do you want to start a revolution for a few forgotten pixels? Did you check thoroughly every inch of your armors? And your shadow, does it perfectly reflect that shape of your toon?

This thread is pointless!

I think I came up with an elegant solution for this. Instead of going for a fit for every head you simply divide the heads up into one of 4 cases, and make the headgear fit according to that. The head cases will be determained based on the clipping issue... aka clips in front, clips in back, clips on front and back, no clips. I am sure something like that would fix most the issues save the strange side clips. Even if it did not completely fix the error it would make the mask look better on the character than it currently does which in the end is what we are asking for. It should be much easier to make 3 more varients of the headgear which in general adaquatly fix those errors on those types of hair then to make one taylor made to each hair.

Ah but you see, it's optional. Anet didn't HAVE to make the blindfold, and nobody was screaming for one in Eye of the North. By doing so in such a sloppy way, it's their own fault to have created reasons, or excuses if you like, for the players to get upset.

WOW......

Sometimes I really feel old....

I grew up with Pong and Pac Man graphics, my first computer was a comodore 64 and first game on it was Oil's Well....

I did a little computer programing and 3D animation in univeristy and now when people get state of the art graphix in a game they complain about a little clipping????

Go to a garage sale and pick up a Nintendo and play the original Final Fantasy for a few hours, then log in to GW and take a good look around.

PS. If you have the skills to do a better job then they have you should send in your resume and some examples, you'll get hired very fast and can build us all the perfect graphix system for GW2.

I did say that every game, even WoW, has clipping problems It has nothing to do at all with artists being sloppy, it's a technical problem that in some instances may never be completely eliminated. It's definitely not as easy to fix as some people on here make it out to be, and unless you are familiar with 3D work for games specifically, don't be so hasty to judge.

If they manage to spend the time taking care of this issue, kudos to them. But if not, I for one am understanding because I know what it takes.

time to grab Photoshop and texmod and give a try at fixing stuff yerself
i fixed some of the lil bugs from my ranger hair myself

I aint bragging at all, just saying that when you want something done, do it your self. Some of those clipping thingies can be fixed

ANet needs 1+year to fix/implement important features, so it might require a lil more when it comes to glasses and locks of hair ^^

You know what we should all do, make our own fixes to the graphical bugs on one big text mod so everyone has the fixes therfor everyone sees the "fixed" version =D.

"now GW and Barbie will have something in common"

Will have?

I thought GW was an on-line Barbies, only with swords and killing and stuff.

This clipping is a 3D problem, not something you can do with Texmod and Photoshop, silly...

Dont mix "old" gamers who grew up with Mario, SNes and 2D Zelda Games who kept playing until now with the average "lil-wee-wee-kiddies" who played their first 3D game on a PSX at best.
Have a look at some random gaming forums and pick some threads about what they consider their "game of year-lol" product aka "nice looks with silly content".
The most recent case i saw: Halo 3 (who said Overhyped FPS #3 ? )
I've seen topics like
-Disappointed about graphics
-Why Halo 3 wont be the best game this year
-I saw pixels in a Halo 3 screenshot !!!
-I bought a new comp and Halo 3 is Ugly
etc....
In a few years you'll be considered a noob just because you played games with only AA 4x
If the whiners are complaining about a one month old HD FPS, explaining 'em all this is a plan who has "Failure" written all over it ^^
Seeing a pair of glasses clipping on their chars'll be outrageous for those dummies ^^

Not that I'm old (I was raised on Doom, though), but I have a pretty similar mindset. I just don't find clipping issues too distressing, since a) most of the time I'm zoomed out too far to notice and b) most of the time I'm in combat, meaning too blurry to notice. Still, some people love to stare at their characters, so I can understand that.

I can’t paint cars, but you BET I’d complain if my new sports car (I wish) arrived with a rust spot.

I love GW and try not to complain about much, but we're not talking about free extra holiday items here. This stuff is part of the expansion we all PAID for. I think that the CUSTOMERS who shelled out RL money for the expansion and then went to the in-game effort to get the armor, only to find out that it looks like crap on their character have every right to complain loudly and often.
